Mental Health Awareness Day is Thursday 10th October 2019 and we want to show young people that they’re not alone when it comes to their mental health. Statistically, according to Young Minds, three children in every classroom have a diagnosable mental health condition, and over 80,000 young people are severely depressed.
On Thursday 10th October, children can come to school in non-school uniform, however the items of clothing should have yellow on them. This will be in exchange for a donation of £1, which we will be donating to the charity Young Minds, by saying #HelloYellow. If your child does not want to wear yellow, they are welcome to attend in normal school uniform.
On this day, the Inclusion Team will be arranging activities relating to mental health and wellbeing and class teachers will be carrying out activities linked to the Personal Development and Character Curriculum, based on self-esteem and self-confidence.
We look forward to this event and hope all children take part.
